Nhoda got into miniature art/ Diorama as a way to cope with stress, anxiety and depression brought about by the pandemic. For six years, he was a full-time tattoo artist but Covid restrictions caused him to lose clients, lose income, and eventually slide into depression.
During the early days of the pandemic, his family would rush him to the hospital due to severe panic attacks and heavy chest pains. To deal with his condition, the Mabalacat, Pampanga native found himself joining Facebook groups of Filipinos experiencing depression, stress and anxiety, this was when he realized he needed to find a hobby that will serve as a form of brain therapy.
Nhoda was a “batang riles” and grew up living in the kind of homes he now makes replicas of. Even as a kid, he’s possessed an affinity for the arts. He remembers making Miniature art/Diorama made of popsicle sticks and scrap cardboards in grade school. The memories from his childhood inspired his recent works. He called his first project “Bahay ni Juan.” in the year 2020 It’s made of 100% recycled materials such as wood, galvanized iron sheets (yero), plastic, pieces of cloth, rubber, tolda, etc. He collected these materials from junk shops, lumber shops, and street.
with his first artwork nhoda was immediately recognized in the field of art, and was immediately given the opportunity to show his talent on national tv, February 7, 2021 his first tv appearance on GMA Public Affair in the program “Ijuander” hosted by – Susan Enriquez
Nhoda made art for his first art collector and he called it “Galaw sa Tubig” it symbolizes the simple life of his fellow Filipinos who live in the river, He posted this on November 29, 2021 in a facebook group called (Ace of Art) this is a group of Filipino Artists, Collectors and enthusiasts,
December 2021, Nhoda’s artwork “Galaw sa Tubig” is trending on said social media, and Year 2022 finally he was known as one of the local artists on the pampanga, Nhoda became known as the “Miniaturista ng Pampanga” he is also aired on almost all Local TV stations such as GMA Public Affair, CNN PHILIPPINES, TV5, NET25, CLTV 36, ABC-CBN. and some Teleradios and Newspapers.
He won the title of “Creative Genuies in Miniature Art” at the Asian Pillars awards 2025, and also became the Artist as Production Designer in the iconic sitcom “Home Along Da Riles” in the movie remake
With the achievements he got he is determined to influence and give inspiration to people suffering from depression and to those who are struggling against the challenges of life, nhoda created his social media accounts to share his art and his own way to fight the dark world of depression through the bright meaning of an Art.
For him, in depression, we have two choices: go to the bright world of art or just lock yourself in the darkness.
