“A collision of worlds—where intricate miniatures meet signature art toys to tell a single, hand-crafted story.” – Nhoda Muñoz
The Story Behind the Masterpiece
The idea for Gawang Kamay, a phrase that directly translates to “Made by Hand” began in January 2026. What followed was a months-long collaborative exchange between Press Play PH and two Filipino artists whose practices, though distinct, remarkably complement each other’s signature style.
Nhoda’s intricate miniature work forms the stage; Blic’s art inhabits it. Together, they construct intimate portraits of daily Filipino life. These are scenes built entirely by hand and made with every day materials.
Tucked into plain sight within each piece in the series is a small calendar that holds a quiet record of time. The date it displays marks the moment the miniature piece— from early conception to finishing touches—was deemed fully complete. A simple, honest reflection and ode to the hands and time involved to produce such art.
Gawang Kamay acts like a set frozen in time that invites its viewers to reflect on themes of Pinoy resilience and self-expression.
“‘Gawang Kamay’ represents a profound convergence of two distinct worlds of imagination coming together to tell a single, meaningful narrative through art. This exclusive collaboration seamlessly bridges Nhoda’s intricate world of handcrafted miniature art and Blic’s signature contemporary art toy design. Meticulously shaped and detailed entirely by human hands, Series 4 is strictly limited to only five (5) copies worldwide. Once this finite run is complete, this exact artistic synergy will never be replicated or reproduced.”
